I'm not a fan of the guarantee pay at all. Because on slow weeks, Saturday comes and all the techs have like 15-17 hours each, and then the entire population of Arlington, Texas suddenly needs an oil change, or a pad slap. No resurface on the rotors either. They were only metal to metal all day yesterday, no big deal. And I get that we did free brake checks, but customers like to push the envelope and get suspension diagnostics and the rationalization is that 'it's already up in the air'. I get it, but my thing is, they came to us to figure out the problem for free because everyone else wanted to charge them because, they want to take it to their "mechanic" who does it infinitely cheaper and then when it comes in to get aligned, one if the tie rods is maxed all the way out in one direction, or ball joints are sledgehammered in to control arms instead of pressed and the boot is already torn to shreds and wont hold grease. THEN get mad because their vehicle won't align properly. Im not a fan of our time spent being clocked in factoring toward our pay either, also because I'm not a fan of the productivity bonus, mostly because it was explained hundreds of times and never did it make any sense to me. Also working every Saturday was lame. Like if we all took turns and rotated Saturday's would've been cool.
