Pros

Free tuition for a bachelor's, Masters, etc. Also, if you suffer long enough, you can receive free tuition for your children. The week between Christmas and New Year's is paid time off, and the benefits are decent.

Cons

Dog-eat-dog environment, poorly-trained managers, excessive pressure put on just for the benefit of the bottom line (so upper-management can stuff their pockets). Lots of favoritism and nepotism. Managers/Directors/ Deans hire their friends who last about as long as their lack of experience will take them. Chancellor drives a brand spankin' new Jag.

Pros

Office culture was poor, company values, none and poor benefits

Cons

Top heavy on administration. Too many inexperienced assistant, associates and vice chancellors. A lot of back stabbing. Limited advancement. A lot of incorrect information passed on for personal advancement.

No Accountability or Leadership

Pros

Rank and file employees are great for the most part. Retirement savings matching is better than most. Online Campus has real leadership.

Cons

Senior executives create a political culture of favoritism and lack accountability. Department heads are ineffective because of the culture created by execs. Huge sums of money are invested poorly in a myopic obsession on "innovation" without due diligence and discussion with those who would actually implement new systems - one disaster after another. The spin from the highest execs is so disingenuous as to be ridiculous - they don't realize half of the rank and file can see right through it. They lose all credibility. No one can communicate a vision about how we will avoid revenue/enrollment problems in the future, meaning we'll be returning to trouble at some point, probably in the near future. They deflect and blame "the economy" with no awareness of their contributions to the problems. Stated/published "values" are ignored at the top; even professors tell students privately we don't practice what we preach.
