Pros

Sick time/ holiday pay and flex time is available in this position.

Cons

Severe mismanagement. Hostile place to work. Hiring is based on friendships and not skill sets. It is normal to see co-workers cry at their desks. Doughnuts are a solution to every crisis. Gossip is severe. No growth. Upper management has no management skills, but they call themselves leaders. If you like the right football teams you can get paid time off to have free drinks and lunches with your bosses. Realize that if you choose to work here you will gain weight, lose sleep, lose hair and have daily panic attacks. Or ,you find an increase in your drinking behaviors off the clock.

Pros

At the lower levels, you'll find individuals with prodigious talent and passion for higher education. There is also the benefit of having time off over the holidays and flexibility in your schedule throughout the year. You'll also have the pride of adding on your resume, experience working at a school in the Chapman University System.

Cons

No growth for individuals who are not well acquainted with management. There is a lack of consistency and communication among the departments and campuses. Conflict and growing pains are to be expected at some level with startups. Unfortunately, management neglects and ignores the tremendous stress this puts on their staff, which results in high turnover and poor work ethics. The only focus of the marketing and leadership teams is to attain to an equal eminence to competitors and they will stop at nothing to obtain this.

Unprofessional Environment

Pros

The benefits are great, after 6 months you can begin working toward a degree for virtually free. You also get ample time off (over 3 weeks), and they contribute a good amount toward your retirement.

Cons

The work environment is completely unprofessional. Coworkers use profanity toward one another, people often come in late/leave early, there's a lot of malicious gossiping, the pay is low (lower then discussed in initial offer), the co-workers rarely hold themselves accountable for mistakes they've made, and the setup is very inefficient, which has created poor communication between departments and between university officials and the students. There's also a lack of easy to locate work resources (often times you have to go a round about way to find a simple answer to a question) and there's no cohesion with outlying campuses.
