Pros

Branding looks nice, some solid coworkers.

Cons

The HR team is hyper focused on controlling optics in an attempt to hide their blatant lack of experience and poor decision making. When issues arise the move is to silence or spin them. Leaders lack depth and maturity; many are in roles well beyond their experience and it shows. Case in point, cookie-cutter 5 star reviews to counter the lower ratings that reflect actual employee experience.

Pros

- supportive peer community - access to great resources - benefits are wonderful

Cons

- leadership bullying and bias; as an example, saw a peer left out of a team HH due to their manager requesting no one on the team tell them it was happening so they wouldn't attend - this felt incredibly cruel. - lack of support from leadership (expect you to do their work); as an example, peers were offered promotions if they promised to do the work of their managers.

Toxic Work Environment Despite Instagram Page Claims

Pros

Standard tech perks and great views. Book-smart, but where’s the human-side we hear so much about? Cute after-school, club vibe.

Cons

Empathy is lacking from management in a major way — likely due to immature experience and suppressed voices of adult members. With so much effort into going public, the strategy is to plow forward at all costs: creative reporting and zero voice for anyone that doesn’t drink the kook-aid, blindly. Classic signs to get out: high turn-over rates, erratic communication, rumor mills, yes-men thrive.

Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry that your experience at Braze has fallen short of your expectations. We have worked very hard to create a positive work environment where all views are listened to and respected. We have received positive feedback from the majority of our employees, which is why we were winners of two best workplace awards: Inc's Best Workplace 2019 and Crain's New York Best Places to Work 2019. Internally, we also make sure to get feedback from our employees through quarterly engagement surveys and have so far received increasingly better ratings each quarter. However, we recognize that we are a fast-growth company. We have almost doubled our employee count in 2019 and expect to hit 500 employees in early 2020. As such, we are actively working to improve our internal communications for all employees and also working with our People Team to ensure everyone has a chance to give feedback, and everyone has a voice at Braze. We will continue to listen to all feedback so we can continue to improve our employee experiences.
