Pros

I've been lucky enough to see the company grow up from a handful of people to nearly 200 employees. Two things motivate me everyday working at Braze - the people and the product. No matter what office you step into, you'll find a group of intelligent, hard-working, and compassionate people solving challenging problems. Employees at Braze also continually display empathy toward one another and clients. The product really differentiates Braze from it's competition. Whether you're looking to invest in your technical skills, learn more about marketing or understand data better, there's an opportunity to do so learning the product here.

Cons

Working at a fast-growing technology company can be demanding and Braze is no exception.

Only good for people who have been through worse

Pros

Intelligent, driven, interesting people Peers who genuinely care about you and are invested in your happiness Some startup perks (catered food, more casual dress) Best in class product, for now

Cons

Systemic issues across all departments around treatment of women and underrepresented minorities. Extreme lack of diverse representation at top levels. Employees were told that management had fixed the pay inequality in mid-2017, but no numbers were publicly released. While management is committed to fixing the issues, progress has been slow and painful. The founding team has been slow to realize that the startup culture they once cherished has become a multinational company that is taking advantage of its most vulnerable employees (recent college grads, people who have never worked at a startup before and are fleeing large companies with bad cultures, people with non-traditional tech backgrounds, women, etc.). Meanwhile, the hired heads from the marketing and sales industries have brought their cultures of toxic infighting and office politics with them. The company's internal values sometimes feel like either lip service for recruiting or an excuse for not treating employees better. For more perspective, look at the most recent Glassdoor reviews for Appboy (the company recently rebranded). That being said, management truly is working to turn things around. Best of luck to them.

Pros

Braze is at a very exciting spot in its evolution. The product team has spent the last few years building the product to a point where it is clearly differentiated amongst our competitors and delivering great value to our customers. As an organization, we've also started working with more and more enterprise clients, which is both exciting and challenging.

Cons

Lots of growth combined with the rename and everything else has made life more stressful lately. More investment in processes, technology and people into next year should help.
