People of Color Beware

Business Outlook

Pros

— Compensation is mostly fair for the roles and the corresponding responsibilities. — Good benefits — Nice people for the most part — Office is closed between Christmas and New Year — If you have an internal champion on the E-Team, then you can get away with not doing work.

Cons

— Promotion and compensation mostly depend on if senior management likes you. — Uneven workload for the same role; again it comes down to who you know. — JDRF’s diversity efforts are a joke. The DEI employee group is controlled by two white men whose mindset is stuck in the 1960s and applauds “progress” such as letting people of color join the committee but have no say in what actions to take or decisions made. — You have to be the “right” color to be taken seriously on DEI, and that color is White. — There is a very real glass ceiling for people of color. — The employee performance evaluation is a very questionable process, as there is set number of people who can get high marks.
