Strong and dedicated volunteer base.

Cons

Management structure very dysfunctional. From Chapters to the National office, very poor treatment and resolution of employee issues. No oversight from National on Chapter managers and Chapter day to day operations.

Pros

Small enough for you to know everyone and everyone to know you. You have a good chance to meet all senior-level staff, and everyone is generally open and friendly. The research department is a desirable place to work for anyone passionate about finding a cure for Type 1 Diabetes, or even just passionate about charitable work in general.

Cons

Not much potential for advancement unless you are patient.
