Political and Heartless

Pros

Staff who have a connection to the mission are passionate and dedicated.

Cons

Institute employee feedback that actually means something; Glint doesn’t mean anything. If it did, the tech department would still be functional. Org doesn’t really accomplish much due to restructuring every 2-3 years. Cannot retain top talent due to whimsical decisions of senior level management who have no idea what staff actually do and how it relates to mission. HR is a mess. The last restructure blindsided the axed staff members, many of whom had a personal connection to the org. Twenty something laid off in one day effective immediately. There is no sense of loyalty or trustworthiness in this organization, which is ironic considering their mission “values.” CEO has no sense of what is happening; he’s too busy #runningwitht1d. Overall, this organization is not at all transparent, nor is it rational or functional in its decision-making. Talented staff is always let go, while the same faces remain. Even if you have a connection to the mission of this organization, the politics, poor reception to staff needs and accomplishments at the national level, and overall disarray of constant restricting without accomplishing anything takes away from anything positive gained from employment here.
