Pros

They are concerned for kids diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and trying to help the family cope. They raise money to help find a cure for diabetes.

Cons

The job was only a temporary position because they can't afford to have someone hired year round.

Pros

To be perfectly frank, my team is a huge pro for me. I am fortunate to work with hard working, talented, motivated people. The families you work with are always a bright spot in your day. At times a lot of pressure from families can be out on you, but I personally am ok with it. They are going through so much! The organization runs well in comparison to other non-profits. I've never had better onboarding and training in my life. The impact JDRF and the research funded by participants and donors are making is pretty unbelievable, which makes it neat to work here. Our researchers are always making strides to find a cure for T1D and in the meantime making life easier.

Cons

Work life balance can definitely be an issue. There is a great comp time structure, but there is so much work to do it's hard to use it. Since therThe is so much work to do, you are expected to put in the time to get it done (naturally), so it may require late nights and weekends to stay on top of your deadlines. I also think there should be more work from home options. Those opportunities are given to mother's in our office and believe it should be equal treatment of all employees, regardless of the childcare situation.
