Pros

Clocking out for the day and only being required to show up in person twice a week

Cons

When management doesn't get their way, they result to guilt trips and bullying until you conform to their ways. They don't care about how their bad management comes across, but still play victim when an employee tries to set healthy and realistic boundaries. You will be accused of not being a team player, even though the opportunities to do so fall outside of normal working hours. NOT inclusive or accommodating to autistic/neurodivergent employees, and I would not recommend disclosing as in my experience, doing so only makes it worse for yourself. Do not trust this company, especially the HR department, with ANYTHING and cover your butt. I always have my emails forwarded to my personal account. They mess up your paycheck quite often and make it your problem to fix. You feel like you're working in a frat house.

Good Union Job

Pros

-Union contract -Decent pay for work done -Occasional free alcohol (mostly around holidays) -Relatively hands off management -Health insurance is affordable and quite good -4 day work week with weekends off

Cons

-Long days (often approaching DOT maximums of 14 hours-regularly 12+). -Heavy workload. Regularly delivering 550+ cases of beer+spirits and 20+ kegs. It’s hard, physically demanding work that takes a toll on your body. -Routing can sometimes screw up and you end up driving back and forth all over town all day. You don’t have any real control over how your route is scheduled, and you just have to deliver whatever, whenever, and wherever they tell you to and just figure it out. They have you going to a liquor store at 8 but it doesn’t open until 9, welp hope you like waiting. -Union contract needs better language in regards to working conditions. It’s mostly about compensation at this point. -Truck repairs are not always done as quickly as I would like, especially when they aren’t immediate safety issues.
