      Culture is excellent in theory, frustrating in practice

      Pros

      -transparency of management -open and honest feedback -genuine "care" of employees -good benefits -sense of community -flexibility to move within company -level of ownership of individuals

      Cons

      -culture can get in the weeds (senior managers being involved down to the weedy details of the department) -hire smart "thinkers" -- but could use more experienced hires, and many experienced hires may be thwarted by the culture -tendency to recreate the wheel -culture is not long-term sustainable for most people

      Pros

      it is one of the largest hedge funds in the world so it looks very good on a resume--they make you go to a class which has a mid term and final so you definitely learn a lot. they have some fun but bizarre social events. they pride themselves on having a meritocracy

      Cons

      it has a cult-like culture, people only seem to be friends with other work people--it's weird....it's also very stressful, lack of good work-life balance. there is always large turnover for the junior people
