Great Place To Work

Pros

Commitment to overall quality and experience for residents, families and associates. Significant upward mobility potential. The residents are amazing and the emphasis on personal choice and dignity makes me happy to go to work every day. Great experiences with upper management and executive directors.

Cons

Happily most 'cons' are easily discussed and resolved with direct reports. Others are comparable to, and part of, business in general. Some are growing pains. No job is perfect, but this rates high above the majority.

Pros

Brightview does more in associate recognition and appreciation that any company I've experienced since I started working at 16 years old. Their best practice is to ask "what's the right thing to do?" vs. "what's best for us?". The communities are beautifully cared for and they seek out really exceptional people in order to make the residents happy. They really do believe that finding the best associates is what makes/will make them successful. Annual reviews for every associate/director provides the opportunity for a pay increase every single year. Monthly training ensures that what you were previously taught stays fresh in your mind to provide the best care and team building for directors helps to ensure that management is strong in the communities. The company is growing and has started pushing IDP's (Individual Development Plans) to groom future leaders. They like to promote from within before searching outside to fill roles.

Cons

Expectations for each role in Brightview are set very high. Sometimes it seems that it's impossible to do everything that your job requires you to do. This isn't necessarily a con if you are the kind of person/employee that thrives on challenge but for those who aren't, the role will be overwhelming. Sometimes it's hard to find work/life balance especially if you're the sort with a very strong work ethic.
