Pros

BriteCore's Values align very closely to my own: Productivity, Quality, Trust, Candor, Transparency, Leadership, Flexibility, Engineering, Learning. I always encourage everyone to be honest, and upper management at BriteCore exhibits these traits. I feel empowered to make a difference throughout the organization. In essence, anyone can have a great idea and execute it. BriteCore has been around for over ten years and, for the past five, been a fully remote company. The organization has moved past the young startup phase - it feels more stable. It embraces the future with its remote workforce. BriteCore always looks to grow and foster a great culture despite all employees not being in the same physical location.

Cons

There are a lot of challenges BriteCore is currently facing in maintaining an aging codebase alongside developing brand new product lines. Senior leadership in all areas of the company has only recently formed. In a lot of ways, BriteCore is playing catchup on planning and tracking progress on key initiatives from top-down. Insurance is complicated, so it requires Product Experts and Software Engineering executing harmoniously in both building and delivering our product to clients.

Pros

Working here offers a lot of base benefits that I have not seen elsewhere - flexible work hours, work from anywhere, unlimited vacation covered benefits and all the tools you need to succeed in your job. All of this leads to such a great work-life balance, which is really important to me. There are also a lot of opportunities for growth and I feel that my manager cares about my career path and wants to help me achieve my goals. The job itself is challenging but rewarding. The people are wonderful as well and being remote makes for a very professional environment, with very little drama.

Cons

Things change a lot and it is a very fast-moving environment. Since I've been here, we've gone through many organizational changes and that has led to high turnover. At the same time, I feel that those changes are motivated by wanting to be a leader in the industry and it makes it a very exciting place to work. It also took a long time to learn about the complexities of our clients' needs and the software itself. You will feel unsteady at first if you don't have software or insurance experience but after you've been here a while, it all starts to click.

Pros

- Flexible hours, remote work - Great culture, great people, BriteCore has the friendliest work environment possible - Learning opportunities - Very diverse, you'll work with people from all around the world - They send you a MacBook Pro!!

Cons

- The most important legacy project is a bloated mess that requires hours of a janky set up process to make even the smallests changes, and you need to go through it every single time - As a developer, you'll have more contact with clients than usual - Insurance is complicated stuff - People are leaving all the time, teams are always changing
