Pros

Broadcom provides plenty of opportunities for any person wanting to hone skills technically. Each team works like a start up and is given a free hand to use their own technology, tools and work on it. It has a an atmosphere where people are only focused on work... More like a 9-6 job where you do your stuff and get out. Ideal place for people wanting to learn something as you are given a free hand to experiment and learn. End of the day you will have to deliver stuff.. Thats all that counts.

Cons

Since every group follows their own approach there is no uniformity. Sharing across teams could be a problem. It takes time to adjust to an environment where you dont get to bond socially.

Pros

Great salary and benefits. The company encourages you to undertake training and there is plenty of presentations and seminars from technical experts. The company also encourages self empowering.

Cons

There is a core group of designers that the management trusts to make all the decisions and if your outside that group you'll end up with poor visibility about the business direction and wont be able to influence the technical decisions. Designers in this group tend to be snub others.
