Good learning opportunity but poor compensation

Pros

It is a great place to learn industrial automation, experience engineers, lots of travel opportunity, variety of project, though most project are baggage handling systems or process control systems you have an opportunity to work in different industry

Cons

Compensation is low compared to industry standards. There are times when you may need to travel for extended periods (> 3 to 4 months). You are expected to work long hours on client site without overtime.

Pros

- Great team of engeneering professionals - Some travel required which allows to work on client sites and deploy/maintain projects there - Profit sharing/bonuses right away - Flexible hours - Free lunches, seminars, sports teams

Cons

- All working space is divided by high walled cubicles - you might not know who's working next to you unless you work on the same project - No co-location of the team - team can be dispersed through out the offices and if you need to talk face to face - plenty of walking necessary. - No proper process in place for sortware development - no code reviews, no proper testing is done. - My ideas of introducing industry standards in software development were disregarded

Very friendly work environment. Opportunity to travel (although this can be a bad thing if the locations are terrible). Taken out to lunches/dinners on the company's dime.

Cons

Travel to some non-desirable places Kitchener (really... who wants to live there)
