Pros

Cool peers that are empathetic and care about the work that they do, snacks (our site had an entire closet filled with snacks), and decent vacation time

Cons

Our Program Director does not understand what it means to be a leader. Her, and upper management, have an outdated idea of what supervision and leadership is. Case workers don't feel supported because they have too many cases, not enough training, and are constantly being "graded" on their performance. Perhaps this is common in other non-profits, but it doesn't mean that it's correct, or that it contributes to a productive working environment.

Pros

Large organization with plenty of opportunities

Cons

The shelter was dysfunctional and often times dangerous for staff and families. There was limited resources, high turnover rates, and shelter administration was incompetent in their roles.
