Pros

Brown Advisory cares for its colleagues in a way that is unlike other firms. A firm of almost 1000 colleagues with 19 offices globally yet it still has a small firm personal feel where networking and building relationships is highly encouraged. I have been with the firm for almost four years and have thoroughly enjoyed my employment. We have excellent benefits, countless firm events (community volunteering, lunches, happy hours, ice cream socials etc.). Brown is an employer where the more you put into it the more you get out of it.

Cons

To be success at Brown Advisory you have to have a certain level of intensity, Our colleagues work hard to go above and beyond for our clients and show up in support of one another. You need to be self motivated and eager to solve problems and take an ownership mindset. If you are not looking to be a self starter, work hard and be kind - Brown Advisory may not be the right employer for you.

Pros

- great culture - lots of opportunities to get involved with a variety of work and projects - very entrepreneurial environment - Great for people who are self-starters and OK with dealing with ambiguity - amazing benefits, including free parking - comp is competitive and becomes even more attractive the longer you stay

Cons

- career paths are limiting but the exposure you get is still plentiful - in the office 5 days a week - a lot of work but I enjoy working with my team
