Pros

High quality research, prestigious institution

Cons

A lot of politics involved. There is a lot of talk about increasing diversity, however, biases still play a role behind the scenes. The administrative departments are rather slow and disjointed.

Pros

Great benefits include healthcare, retirement, education, free bus pass and discount to the new fitness center. Rich in resources on and around campus. The pool is awesome, the piano practice rooms, the main green and libraries are all nice perks of working at a university.

Cons

The office environment is not for me. Some of the people in my office were always complaining and never seemed happy or healthy, and they never did anything about it so it was depressing. It was hard to get these people to think or act differently.
