Management is a masterclass in incompetence, making decisions that solely benefit themselves while ignoring the people actually keeping the company running. Communication is a joke, and you’ll often find out about major policy changes after they’ve already been implemented - usually to your detriment.
The commission structure is about as stable as a house of cards in a hurricane. Just when you think you’ve figured out how to make a decent living, they shift the goalposts to ensure your earnings shrink while theirs remain untouched. Of course, when questioned, they’ll gaslight you into believing it’s all in your best interest.
Then there’s the oh-so-honest sales tactics. Rolex is dangled in front of customers like a carrot on a stick, but only if they agree to buy whatever else management is desperate to shift. If you have any sense of integrity, prepare to struggle. If you don’t play along, you’re simply not ‘a team player’.
Support from head office? Don’t make me laugh. Whether it’s stock issues, customer disputes or anything else remotely important, you’ll be left to fend for yourself while they sit comfortably in their ivory tower. You’d have better luck asking a brick wall for help.
Expect to be treated like the bottom of the food chain, regardless of how long you’ve been there or how much you contribute. Hard work isn’t rewarded - it’s exploited. And if you prove to be capable? Congratulations, you’ve just earned yourself more responsibilities with absolutely no pay increase. Truly, a privilege.
The working environment is a delightful blend of stress, pressure, and thinly veiled threats. Morale is in the gutter, and burnout is practically a rite of passage. If you dare to voice concerns, you’ll either be ignored or subtly pushed towards the exit.
If you enjoy working long hours for diminishing returns, being strung along with false promises, and watching upper management line their pockets at your expense, then by all means, apply. Otherwise, I’d strongly recommend running in the opposite direction. There are far better places to waste your time and talent.
