Going to the Cloud

Pros

The pay was very good. There were some good people there. We were working on a cloud based server for Buffalo Tech. It was very interesting work.

Cons

Management did not have a plan to make money on the project. It was eventually killed because of this. USA employees were treated like 2nd class citizens in the Japanese based company. It was very difficult to be promoted and your ability to affect strategic decisions was limited.

Pros

Small company with access to some cool technology and under right circumstance can grow job. Most people are nice and fun.

Cons

Negative vibe as important smart people left in 2014, failed at the cloud strategy, HUGE LAYOFFS of engineers, company is in shrinking market, uncompetitive products, weak executive management, management strategy is all over the place and shortsighted, management makes excuses for problems, major benefits reductions, office location and condition is not competitive, forced to sell on price to survive. In about 1 year 4 HR managers/directors in a row quit- that says it all

Pros

There were a lot of great people that worked at Buffalo which made going into work something to look forward to on a daily basis. The projects were interesting and that kept things interesting.

Cons

The offshore management kept changing track. Priorities would change on an almost daily basis. The organization structure would change every few months.
