Pros

- Fine for a first job and getting customer service experience. - Cool coworkers and some of the assistant managers are nice. - Kids are amazing and funny.

Cons

- Head managers are rude and pushy people who want you to devote everything to the company. - So many expectations - it's like working at Disneyland but no perks and lower pay. - Managers make it seem like they care about you when they really don't. - Managers talk badly behind employees' backs to other employees and assistant managers. It's not even constructive criticism, it's just trash talk. Very embarrassing and made me quit. - "Extended Shifts" - These drove me crazy. So you have a 4 hour shift but then there could be a 2 or 3 hour "extended shift" and basically they can keep you if they want or let you go if the store is too slow. Not cool at all, especially when you want to make plans but do not know if they're going to make you stay.

Pros

fun coworkers, laid back environment that’s very different then most retail jobs. Interating games and competitions between employees as insentive

Cons

When I worked at BABW management was told to over hire and only give out 1-2 four hour shifts to each employee so that employees were always constantly fighting for hours. Even if you had completely open availability and wanted to work more than 8-10 hours a week you weren’t allowed. Not only that, but you would be scheduled for “on call” shifts which meant you may or may not have to work and wouldn’t know until and hour beforehand so if you did get a second job(which most employees do) you would have block off availability for a day you may or may not work. Almost impossible to move upward. Overall a good company but not a great job for someone looking for career potential
