Pros

Good teams, and good coworkers, who were smart, hard working, helpful, and knowledgeable.

Cons

The workplace is highly unstable. Beyond traditional layoffs, there is a yearslong troubling pattern of quiet team cuts, demotions, and employees being pushed out without warning—changes that leadership consistently fails to address. The organizational structure shifts every few months, which, compounded by high turnover in both senior and middle management, makes it impossible to maintain a consistent direction. It feels as though the company is endlessly trying to "reorg itself into success." Internal communication regarding changes is poor. There is a prevailing "stretch" mentality that often masks the reality of downsizing and offshoring. The culture is dismissive of employee concerns; phrases like, "If you don't like how we operate, we want you to leave," or comments suggesting that layoffs were necessary because the company "didn't want those people," create a lack of psychological safety. Also, comments dismissing ex employee feedback are dismissive, as “those people don’t work here anymore” and company surveys went from anonymous, to visible, to being removed altogether. Senior leadership seems more focused on maintaining a "FAANG-like image" than executing a sound business strategy or enabling the organization to do their best work. There is a distinct "bro culture" driven by "LFG!" rhetoric in meetings and documents, challenging the bro culture will get you in trouble and there is a lack of women in leadership. Additionally, while constantly cutting positions and scrutinizing employee performance, the company spends lavishly on expensive offices and flying the entire organization out for unproductive, week-long summits filled with grandiose but empty talks. Success here is product dependent. Built throws stuff against the wall to see what sticks, but since a lot of solutions are bespoke, many products don’t scale or are not wanted by other customers. The review process is a corporate version of a communist struggle session, where you mostly write about your failings and document your self criticism, This compounds with finger pointing and a blame oriented culture to make a very negative work environment. As a result, high-performing employees are frequently passed over for promotions, leading to severely limited career development. Don't take time off here, it will hurt your performance.
