Cons

It is horrible. If you enjoy people in their 40s, 50s, 60s acting like highschoolers then this is the place for you! The environment is so toxic. Micromanaged, no morale, never acknowledged for achievements only criticized for mistakes. The BV lifers think they run the place so to survive you need to be in their clique. Sp;eadsheets used insteadof investing in important software to run reports. The software that is used is old and outdated. No structure. Engineers are overworked and forced to do overtime. Management has never been in actual management positions prior, only promoted for being there so long.

Terrible Management

Pros

Due to the recent high turnover rate there's more opportunity to advance beyond what you are qualified for. The lab has been without a supervisor for half a year and after the most recent internal candidate turned it down, management asked half the lab employees if they would take it, regardless of qualifications and experience. You might get a higher salary here but it's probably not worth the frustration. Unless management chooses you to be their scapegoat, most employees can fly under the radar and avoid putting in excessive hours.

Cons

Extremely poor management. Managers consistently fail to communicate effectively with lab employees and often leave employees to manage projects on their own . This would be fine except that they are the ones communicating with clients and fail to maintain good communication with the clients as well, leading to constant chaos in the lab, switching between projects at a whim and wasting vast amounts of time, money and effort. All employees are extremely frustrated and management rarely if ever listens to them. Management is demeaning, disrespectful and sometimes outright offensive to employees. Poor ethics is a huge concern for many employees. Management often asks us to do things that we are not comfortable with or pressures us to take short cuts because they failed to manage projects properly. There are even instances of management asking employees to do things that are illegal. There was recently an HR intervention, the fallout of which lead management to become even more disrespectful and obstinate in their mismanagement. Favoritism is very obvious. Certain managers will go out of their way to please certain employees regardless of their ability or value to the company while being completely disrespectful to others. There is no opportunity for career growth unless you happened to be the manager's pet.
