Business Control Systems reviews

There were many cons in my short period of working with Business Control Systems. Firstly, I was recruited for the position via LinkedIn. We spoke several times about specifics with the position, pay, company, culture, etc. I had been in retail for quite some time and was looking for a change. I decided to accept the offer. Throughout the process I was told a lot of positive things about the company. Their culture with having a good work/life balance, having a set schedule working Monday through Friday 8-5, the large amounts of possible pay, having strong leadership that do not micromanage. A beautiful picture was painted of this job and none of it was fulfilled. This was probably the lowest paying job I have ever had. We do not receive commission the first 3.5 months of working. So solely we rely upon salary, which was not much at all and well below market average for this role. I was told my first year I would make around 55-60,000. After that it would be nearly six figures. The company only worked maybe 5-6 positions in the time I was there. Many that had been posted for over a year. Even if I had made commission it would be nowhere near that with the low level of business they had. That was the first sign. The work/life balance ended up not being true as well. You are greatly expected to work before and after your shift even on your days off. I don’t mind doing that sometimes, but since I go to school full time it was difficult to do. They often scheduled many activities outside of work hours to have completed. The company does a book club. So we had to read while off work to then talk about and present what we had learned which was a bit odd. The worst thing about this job was the direct management. He is the most demeaning person I have ever worked with. No good work was ever praised. It was a constant “beating” as I called it of what you did wrong. I constantly was made feel like I was inadequate and a terrible fit for the role. We had daily morning calls where he would speak negatively about people’s performance with many others employed by the company. I was called unreliable for being 1-2 minutes late to a call or two even though upper leadership, including him were always late. I would reach out to him with help and never get a response while I would see him call and message my peers in the mean time. I dreaded having to wake up in the morning and have to go to work because of him. His management style consisted of harassment, bullying, and micromanagement. He would call throughout the day just to bicker at you for “activity”. This job was more like a call center than a staffing facility. While I had many submits for candidates the priority was making 50 calls a day. This was totally unobtainable. I watched others call numbers repeatedly that did not answer, call disconnected numbers repeatedly, call people for no apparent reason other than to meet their quota, and lastly make calls at home outside of work so that they could say they met their goal. This was the most insane thing that I had ever witnessed and I refused to be dishonest. I was always reprimanded for not meeting that goal. I was constantly stressed and depressed when working there. I made the decision to leave and even before finding another job because I could not mentally handle the treatment. He is a poor example of what a leader should be and I warn anyone thinking of taking a position here. I am not writing this out of ill will or because I am that “disgruntled” employee. I am doing it to help someone else that may be like me and consider this job with minimal research beforehand.
