Pros

Businessolver is an organization that has high expectations for its employees because our clients have high expectations of us - and we make sure to deliver! I am in sales and am proud to be part of the circle of achievers. We are full of passionate employees who are focused on leveling up! We help our clients level up their organizations and drive their benefits strategies. We help their employees level up the benefits knowledge and engagement. And my colleagues and I are focused on leveling up our own knowledge and skills so we can be the best resource for our customers. No other organization we see in this space is as committed to quality and innovation. Our competitors are acquiring their clients through acquisitions- we are earning them through our passion, technology, and great service. I am proud to work here because we continue to build our technology from the ground up - which means it works better and in perfect harmony. Others are bolting on parts of their solutions and slapping new user interfaces on old acquired tech. It makes it easier to service our clients when you have a foundation of great tech! Finally, I feel well supported in my role. I have the access to incredible people, resources, and tools to get my job done. There is constant coaching, development, seek to learn opportunities, and ways to help me level up my own game.

Cons

There will always be some changes and challenges when growing as fast as we are. The worst part is all the these reviews spreading FUD to perspective employees and clients. Most of those reviews were from bitter people terminated for underperformance and can’t help but point fingers and throw dirt. Our clients don’t want finger pointing, so those employees likely weren’t a fit! Don’t reach out to them, reach out to the achievers who are still here. If you want to level up and be a part of a culture of achievers - come join us! We do have high expectations for our employees and it is sad that some people aren’t a good fit for our culture. I know how hard you try during the interview process to find the right people.

Pros

This company is a known entity in the industry and has risen to great heights over the last 20 years. Both leadership and staff are dedicated to being the best in the business, all on the same team, working for the success of the company. If you work hard, work smart and do well, you are recognized. The technology is out in front and leading the way in the HR Technology industry. Leadership including the CEO, is creative, approachable and allows/encourages innovation.

Cons

Are they perfect? No, but if you are looking for a perfect workplace, good luck! The hours are long, but this is our industry. Long hours for sure, and even longer in Q4. The concerns I have are more about how I constantly see people in the lunch room all day long playing Foosball and ping pong but then read comments about how overworked we are....it can't possibly be as bad as some of these reviews suggest. It's not. Again is it perfect, no. But I like it here and get offended by all these negative comments. I have been in the industry for a long time and the new workforce has changed the game and made us (all of us) better.

Thank you for your feedback. I agree it is hard to read some of the comments here, particularly for those of us who have no idea where the negativity is coming from. I encourage you to focus on the overwhelming majority of our Solvers who share your sentiments. Please reach out if you'd like to discuss. mklipfel@businessolver.com

Pros

Some of the best management I've ever worked with as far as call center supervisors go. They really push you to have success. And the team you will work alongside is also awesome. At the start of your time there, you will have to go through licensing for life, health and accident, and property and casualty insurance which looks awesome on a resume once you leave. You will seriously never go hungry and I love the fact that there's a happy hour every day. Some will call it unprofessional, others will make a snide remark about how after taking x amount of calls it's needed. I just think it's an awesome concept, and a game changing perk for employees. They spend a lot of time preparing you for the role you are about to step into.

Cons

Let me start by saying this- the biggest part of the problem was not businessolver l, it was me. Simply put, this was a job in the right industry for me but with environment for me to find my stride. When I was interviewed, they weren't totally clear about the role of the participant services rep. So let me be Very clear- when they say service center they mean call center. And there's a ton of calls all day. And they are often back to back. And these are seldom easy calls. You're also pretty highly monitored on you time management and meeting metrics is really the only way to be successful. If you don't meet them, it's hard to keep moving up and be seen as a valuable asset. Coinciding with what I said about the high call volume, another issue is that there simply isn't enough employees. Because of this, there's a lot of mandatory 10 hour days, which they also don't prepare you for in the interview process. But again, that's my experience. Some people ARE AMAZING at being a phone rep. Some really like it. But if all the things I mentioned above scare you, look elsewhere. If you feel like you can take a high amount of calls on a consistent basis, are ok with getting a decent amount of overtime (hey more pay) and are driven by metrics rather that overwhelmed, there couldn't be a better call center out there for you to work in. So just because my experience was not ideal does not mean that yours will be also. But pay attention to the things I've mentioned, because they do matter. Still, a pretty cool company.
