Pros

Good chance for exposure at a heavily trafficked outlet. Paid my bills, albeit narrowly, for a while.

Cons

Until 2017, at the very least, Bustle was refusing to work staff writers full time to avoid providing health benefits. This was the beginning, middle, and end of my time there, 28 hours per week and not a second more. If we'd been able to work full time I might still be doing it. This was an exploitative system, and a hypocritical one, given the site's ostensibly liberal orientation.

Pros

It was a great experience until they fired everyone to add "marquee hires" to the company and put us all out of work at the start of the holiday season.

Cons

It was a great experience until they fired everyone to add "marquee hires" to the company and put us all out of work at the start of the holiday season. It was so rude and insensitive. A major self-esteem killer.
