Pros

Brand name for your resume, decent benefits. Will pay for relocation for higher level jobs.

Cons

"Old boy network" with very little opportunity for advancement. Highly political and dysfunctional culture. Antiquated vacation policy (2 weeks and open every day possible, including the day after Thanksgiving!) Many decisions made for the personal benefit of leadership rather than the good of the company.

Pros

There is opportunity for professional and personal development, but you do have to be willing to make sacrifices (e.g., move to a different facility). At the facility level there is a lot of discretion for management to make decisions as long as they don't conflict with company policies. Management groups at the facility level tend to work collaboratively and creatively to overcome challenges.

Cons

There's a lot of bureaucracy in the corporate structure and it is often difficult to move things from ideas to reality. The organization is more reactive than proactive, which is not uncommon in the industry. In some parts of the organization, corporate management doesn't seem connected to the facility-level management in a supportive way.
