Flexible schedule. Some great supervisors. Rewarding with good supervisor.

Cons

Burn out fast. Some poor supervisors. Low quality supervision and direction. Lack of professional development and investing in employees looking to grow. Inconsistent schedule. Difficult behaviors to work with. Cliquey management. Pessimistic and gossipy at clinic.

A Good Example of the Problems Plaguing ABA

The majority of the BCBAs are hard working and care about both their clients and the technicians that work for them

Cons

New technicians are often placed on challenging clients with little to no training. Technicians are frequently placed with clients and asked to sub without being given access to any of the programming or information about the client including the BIP. Billable hours means more money for corporate even if that time is not beneficial to the client. Administration is also horrendous at scheduling and communication. You will be told by one person to show up to sub and then upon arriving, you will be sent home because no one else thought you were coming in. Both centers in Louisiana are filthy and not cleaned frequently. Many of these issues are common throughout the field. Butterfly Effects is not alone in having these issues, but in the 2 years I've spent there, there was nothing done to improve these conditions.
