- Still acts like a start-up despite its global platform/company status
- Unspoken culture, but if you don't speak mandarin/any Chinese dialect, you'll probably never have the opportunity to be a head/director - Even if your proposals/points/suggestions/feedback are valid, your Chinese peers/managers/directors (Shanghai, Singapore, etc.) will just hear you out and really not agree with you right away. But after a couple of days, they will use your idea and not even acknowledge your contribution to the idea.
- Definitely needs more systematic approach in terms of what departments/teams are supposed to be coordinating and collaborating together
- Due to its start-up "feels" and with a very fast paced and growing global company, you'll definitely feel the heavy workload and feel the "unspoken" pressure to ensure that you get to adapt, resolve, and provide impactful changes/proposals/work within just a month - Despite being with the company just for less than 3 months, it feels like it's been already 8 or more months because of all the workload - Policies, product features/updates, etc keep changing -- like almost everyday! There's really a lack of collaboration and alignment with the different teams/departments -No annual appraisals; your best luck is to exhaust yourself from working and be competitive so you can be even be reconsidered for a bonus :(
