Pros

Young workforce - you do make some great friends there!

Cons

Where do I even begin... 1. Horrendous salary for the amount of work they make you do. Minimum wage. They want exceptional talent who work like consultants from the BIG 4s but pay like retail wages. Matter of fact, I think managers at Tesco's earn more than consultants at C Space. 2. When I joined the company, it was marketed as more of 'branding' / 'innovation' agency. It's purely just a market research company where you basically collect verbatim from consumers that help validate clients on strategies they've already decided on. The work gets really repetitive and boring. 3. A lot of admin tasks especially when you are an AC/C. You're essentially a consultant, customer service representative and administrative assistant all at once. There's never enough time to do anything and when you try to seek for help, they just get shut you down and turn it around to blame your time management and organisational skills...?? 4. You're meant to be 'proactive' but there's no room for that as manager(s)/team lead(s) love to micromanage and tell you what to do, when to do at all times.

Pros

You'll get plenty of opportunities to sharpen your powerpoint skills.

Cons

Let me be very clear; you will NEVER find a company that prides itself more with its "family", "friendly", "open feedback" culture. Unless you fit a very specific mold, all the above will be used against you. You will get underpaid, under-appreciated and if you're lucky, you won't have a burnout breakdown by the end of your employment. There's a reason very few people stay working for C Space. THOSE guys are the "family" they so proudly proclaim. As an ethnic person, I had multiple hurtful & ignorant interactions (ignore the inevitable apology from HR/ management that will follow my review). Unless you're willing to join these people in their socials/ stay behind after work/ play their game, you will be made to feel like an "other". This is not a biased sentiment - I promise you, this was a shared sentiment amongst a large group of fellow ethnic colleagues. We all felt it. We all left because of it. We're all in disbelief that we tolerated it. Be very weary of your line-manager; I had 4 managers in the space of 2 years... (tells you everything). One of them made my life an actual living misery, and did everything in her power to get me to resign. When I reported her (multiple times), she cried... the powers that be felt sorry for her, and nothing further happened. Important to note I was the third Associate Consultant to have reported this person in the space of 1.5 years. Takeaway message = you are not their priority. You are merely an underpaid cog in the machine to them. Please, prioritise yourself. There are plenty of better employers out there. Silver lining is I can truly say I'm positive I will NEVER work for such a toxic company ever again. My salary doubled in my next role (with ease) and I quickly realised the culture I had tolerated for years was not the norm in the corporate world.
