The pay is pretty good. There is a little bit of flexibility in scheduling the hours you work. They have a good collection of materials to use when tutoring the students in different subjects.

Cons

A lot of weekend and night hours. The center directors sometimes make you work more hours than you originally wanted to when because there is a shortage of tutors at times.

- getting to work with students is invigorating. I feel achieved and energetic when I meet my students - Training, curriculum and schedules are already provided and you don't need to confront parents directly

Cons

- They don't look for full-time tutors. They rather hire full time curriculum specialists. So, there are relatively fewer full-time jobs for tutors.

Helping kids succeed can be very rewarding Independence in lesson planning and execution C2 provides decent training for first-time tutors.

Cons

Unpredictable working hours. You don't know your schedule until the day before and sometimes the morning of. You may work 40 hours a week, or you may work 3. Tutoring up to 3 different kids in 3 different subjects at once can be tricky Sometimes unprofessional management High tutor turn-over rate, but probably linked with the targeted employee (recent college graduates waiting for their big break)
