The c-suite is packed with yes-men that are loyalists and will throw you under the bus at first opportunity. While you’ll be isolated from that largely, the culture trickles down and innovation stagnates. There is fear to develop, to change, to adapt. This means smart employees are forced to slow to the pace of the CEO and his responsiveness in emails. If you travel, are commission based, or receive performance based compensation - good luck. You will hear immediately horror stories of people getting paid late or never. Be sure to read the fine print. If you’re between jobs - take the job and bide your time between gigs.
