A company that has grown by acquisition, CA has done an exceptionally poor job of integrating its various lines of business (or the products). There are worse places to work but there are better, too.

- Some great people with a lot of expertise and experience. - Flexilbe work arrangements, depending on who you work for.

Cons

- Mainframe development is being led by a salesman who has no clue about how to build new products. - The company in general has no clue about how to build new products. - Jobs are being off-shored at an alarming rate. - Some real idiots at all levels of management. - Multiple concurrent major company-wide mainframe initiatives have left most products unable to deliver any new function.

* Stable employer * Flexible work arrangement * Good facilities

Cons

* Way too much process, process for everything but the toilet visits * Redundant processes and processes for the sake of processes result in waste of development time * Management has trust issues with the employees, don't treat them like monkeys. If there are those that can't think or work at a competent level they can be dealt with, but the bar shouldnt be dropped for everyone.
