      A palsic software company....great minds making great products, cripped hands that can't sell or support it.

      Pros

      I can't think any good reasons to work at CA. Lots of good reasons to BUY from CA. It's usually great stuff, well supported and poorly sold.

      Cons

      The Sanjay hangover means more effort is spent covering asses than creating a great company willing to leave behind its checkered past. You can get consistent high evaluations and it won't save you from a layoff.

      Pros

      Not a lot. If there are no other jobs around you might be forced into a job there. Their compensation is under average, there are hardly any bonuses and when they are they are in the form of worthless options or stock vestable in 5 years. Good luck staying there more than 2.

      Cons

      Mediocrity is rampant. Very tribal organization lead by idiots. They haven't produced anything of value in years. I believe their strategy of off shore development was disasterous, done too fast and too much. They hired idiots in India and they contribute nothing. Middle management is mostly inept and senior management a bunch of cretins.

      if there are no other jobs and you don't mind working in an environment where mediocrity is king , than CA is for you. favoritism rules and if your not on the inside forget about a raise or a promotion. prodcuts are all developed by second rate programmers leading to bug riddled products. middle management is comprised of yes men who just pass on diredctives form the mysterious 'Leadership Commiitee'. sort of like big brother. The company continues to feed its india operation while cutting back on US jobs. every day you come in could be layoff day. Morale in US is zero

      inept midel level managment. there are over 600 VP's and only 13,000 employeess
