Pros

Carfax is a fantastic place to work if you value a supportive, employee-friendly atmosphere. The company culture is genuinely welcoming, and the team is incredibly kind. A standout benefit is the Summer Fridays policy, which provides a level of work-life balance that is hard to beat.

Cons

Stagnant Career Progression: Opportunities for advancement can feel slow. Compensation: The salary is not quite on par with major Big Tech firms. Lack of Meritocracy: There are few tangible rewards or incentives for top-tier performance. Talent Density: You may not always find yourself working alongside the industry's most elite technical talent.

Pros

Free snacks and that’s about it

Cons

- The culture feels very controlling. Assigned seating and constant monitoring make it feel like you’re being watched instead of trusted to do your job. - There’s a strong “butts in seats” mentality rather than focusing on actual results. They went from fully remote during Covid, to come to the office if you want, and then they started mandating you come into office more and more. It’s up to 3-4 days in person now. Wouldn’t be surprised if it becomes 5 days in person this year. - Management tends to micromanage, which can be exhausting and demoralizing over time. - The environment can feel more like school than a professional workplace. Sometime it feels like high school with all the drama spearheaded by 30-50 year olds that should be acting their age. -Low morale in many teams. People tend to keep their heads down rather than feel energized. -High turnover in certain roles, which should be a signal to leadership that something in the culture isn’t working.
