Pros

If you have a passion for helping people and like doing meaningful work then you should work for this organization. CASA is a non-profit organization that helps immigrants to be self-sustaining, productive citizens - documented or not. Their mission is "To create a more just society by building power and improving the quality of life in low-income immigrant communities." They do community organizing, and education and leadership training. Their services include helping with healthcare, employment, housing, legal, etc. I've had the privilege of working here since last April and I love the work environment - the management and workers are very supportive and responsive.

Cons

Being a non-profit, they're funds are limited and as such, they don't pay much yet most job positions have too much responsibilities for what they can afford to pay. But, it's all about job satisfaction and not always about money.
