Pros

The only positive is it is remote work.

Cons

Subpar compensation (~18/hr + $1 for certain certs; ie sec+, net+, ccna) There is no onboarding / training procedures. It takes a couple months before you finally have all the tools and credentials required. Training is nonexistent. Management is completely disorganized. It feels like a chicken with its head cut off. It's clear they are firing from the hip. They onboard customers before documentation, training, or even a scope of work is outlined. They assign work to the wrong business units. They have a profound inability to make net profit targets (which impacts tech bonuses). Business outlook is atrocious. It is not a company I would stake my future in. A recent downsize occurred due to poor planning. Instead of moving those personnel to the NOC they looked for outside hires. Communication is non-existent. They let the subject matter experts leave over petty stuff. They won't answer escalation calls, but best believe they will call you quick, fast, and in a hurry when they need a shift covered or a favor. Company doesn't know about documentation. They use multiple portals that are often outdated and inconsistent/vague.

Pros

Benefits are actually pretty good

Cons

Pay is horrible. QC has no set standards, so everyone that does the QC has different rules. My work comes back to me for no good reason. I cannot get ahead because of the time it takes for me to do a job due to my work coming back from QC for something that they see needs to be added that actually has no bearing on the drawing, design or outcome of the job itself. If I could do my own QC, nobody would have a problem or complaint and I might actually be able to get a promotion. $0.50 per hour raise each year is not going to be in pace with the rate of inflation!
