      The "pros" are usually limited during any business downturn, which there are many. It's a good point of entry into larger, more career oriented companies.

      Cons

      Career growth potential is non existent. Contract positions have no upward movement what-so-ever. Raises are minimal, if any at all.

      Pros include flexible work schedule and a relaxed office atmosphere. Exposure to a wide variety of mechanical components.

      Cons

      Benefits. Management can be very hands-off and you will need to hunt them down to get them to come through decisions. Progression and performance reviews need to be chased, don't expect them to come to you.
