Pros

Remote work policy is a good benefit that helps for work-life balance. The team is very flexible in allowing to work from different places. Individual people are very nice. I had great conversations with people in the company and they are good people.

Cons

The organization feels increasingly beholden to stockholder interests, which has led to frequent staff reductions and layoffs. This shift toward prioritizing short-term financial metrics has impacted long-term employee security. There is a noticeable trend toward outsourcing and a heavy reliance on H-1B visas for technical roles. This strategy often results in a loss of institutional knowledge and can create friction for remaining domestic staff. The constant threat of restructuring has created a culture where management often appears to be "running scared." Instead of focusing on innovation or team development, some leaders seem more preoccupied with job preservation. This leads to a reactive management style rather than a proactive or supportive one.

CDW HATES AMERICAN WORKERS

Recommend

Business Outlook

Pros

work from home days and paid time off

Cons

1. outsourcing American jobs resulting in declining job satisfaction and angry customers. 2. Terrible base pay, well below industry average for a working professional. 3. Sales team continues to lose benefits years over year to include bonuses, spiffs, % of profit paid to sales. 4. New siloed processes that require 10+ clicks to get something done that use to take sending 1 email. 5. Embarassingly low 401k match. You will never be able to retire from here.

Toxic culture

Pros

Most people that work there are kind, good people just trying to survive Work life balance , I never felt obligated to work overtime.

Cons

company claims to have a great culture but the reality is that it’s toxic. We were treated like we were lucky to have a job, too scared to speak up, you were retaliated against if you did. Kept laying off employees to keep investors happy and make it look like the company was doing better than it is. The employees that remained were left to pick up the slack and the workload. They laid off very good leaders to bring on less expensive employees who had no business being leaders. Additionally,They pay below average and are always trying to save a buck. They think you are lucky to have the CDW name on your resume and they know people want to get in so they will accept a lower offer. Internal employees are treated even worse when it comes to promotions and pay. There is no transparency. They actually told us to not be transparent. Some people in the exact same role were paid very different rates. In order to get a pay increase or bonus, we were forced to do performance reviews multiple times a year, track our activity, take on projects, and create goal plans. They constantly added more and more to our plates that it became impossible to meet our goals for the bonus or raise.
