Boring work, Shady company

Business Outlook

Pros

- base pay is good - potential for some down time during the work day - not typically micromanaged (unless you have that kind of team) - remote work

Cons

- Fragmented management style. Some managers tell you one thing and others tell you something different. Zero alignment in management style. - Company values are non existent in day to day work. They don’t stand for anything meaningful. - The work is mundane. You’ll be writing memos, booking JEs, and preparing reconciliations on repeat. Not the “challenging and exciting work” that is promised during the interview process - Lack of internal infrastructure. They employ over 1k people, but have a handful of people working internally. If you ever have issues with something, good luck being heard. - Health benefits are ridiculously expensive. Like worst I have ever seen. - Paternity leave = 2 weeks - 401k match is bad and doesn’t start for a year after you join - The people. Everyone is just looking out for #1 and they don’t really care about being a good leader or helping you grow. - The culture. All the bad of B4 culture with none of the good. You are just a number/metric.

Pros

Okay WLB, but can expect to still work 50-60 hours..Salary is okay

Cons

Mismanaged clients and bad projects leads to typical projects that are not what I signed up for. A lot of interim work Bonus is hyped up and overtime only exists if you actually work / bill year round

So-so experience

Recommend

Business Outlook

Pros

- Really great people - almost all former B4 who grew tired of work-life. Always willing to lend a hand. - Solid client base. - Helpful trainings and knowledge database for advancing career.

Cons

- Client work has felt rushed lately. At least in my experience, firm has understaffed engagements in order to meet budgets. Perhaps some of these clients should be reconsidered. - With the haste of some of these engagements, difficult to receive help or learn on the job. Getting things done is prioritized over development. - I've found that even when reaching out for work, too often it's difficult to be assigned. This absolutely impacts the OT bonus - I have made it a point to ask around for work, often to no avail.
