Working at this company can feel reminiscent of a high school environment, marked by gossip, cliques, and a troubling lack of professional maturity. The management approach, which includes publicly calling out employees, often appears contradictory, as the manager seems to avoid confrontation and lacks accountability/ integrity.
The level of micromanagement is concerning, with scrutiny extending to every email, metric, and phone call, etc. Employees can expect to be treated with a degree of oversight that feels excessively detailed and controlling.
There is no consistent set of metrics, leading to different rules for each employee based on their relationship with the manager. This favoritism creates a challenging environment for new employees and fosters a sense of entitlement among long-standing staff, which can stifle growth.
The manager has high expectations for working hours, often requiring 50-to-60-hour work weeks. Discouraging to say the least when you see the manager consistently log off and head home before 5pm. There is a strong expectation to be available around the clock, including evenings and weekends, even when on PTO. While PTO is generous at 4-5 weeks, the requirement to meet weekly metrics during time off diminishes its value completely.
It’s worth noting that experiences may vary by office, as many others seem to have a more positive outlook. Be mindful of any struggling "top offices", as they are known for having the most challenging cultural environment.
