Pros

There is a large workforce so there is relative job stability. It is fairly easy to get time off when you need it considering it is a consulting company. They have some good clients like the city, state, and federal governments. There is the possibility of taking online training classes. Depending on the management they are relatively easy to approach if necessary. They have a nice party 2 times a year, a company wide "Town Hall" meeting at Chelsea Piers and a holiday party some time in late February, although i am not quite sure what makes that a Holiday party.

Cons

There is relatively low career development. Promotions if they come seem to come around the 6 or 7 year mark with exceptions. Promotions do not necessarily come with raises. There is relatively low profit sharing if there is any at all. There are no yearly bonuses. Salary raises are in the 3 % range not to top 5%. They claim there is a class stipend for each employee but this money is relatively hard to obtain. Training is almost never granted since it possibly effects your work schedule or availability. Once you are on a project, you are most likely stuck there forever, or until you are no longer needed. It is hard to change projects.

Pros

CGI offers very talented and dedicated team players that are willing to go above and beyond for the good of the company and in the spirit of helping the team. The employees are the owners and they take great care in cultivating a great team attitude and knowledge sharing.

Cons

Compensation is determined when you negotiate your salary and there is little room for salary increases above COLA once they have you on board. Benefits have been cut again and again and are teetering on unacceptable. All of the incentives and bonuses are dealt out to upper management, leaving chump change to the "worker bees." There is a joke of a 401k/retirement plan.
