Immigration Court contract--horrible

Pros

None. A paycheck for a while.

Cons

CGI placed me on their contract doing legal assistant work at the immigration court. The place is a disaster--terribly mismanaged, contractor hell, other contractors ruining it for everyone, the Court Administrator has mismanaged the place so badly that the courts are at least 18 months behind in their dockets. There are MANY unhappy staff there and the management (B. Cook) does not have a clue how to effectively be a leader of people. On the CGI side, the contract director (K.U.) is constantly saying how little time she has for anything, but yet she will babble on over the phone for an hour and accomplish nothing. Management at both the court and CGI do not listen to what is really needed to run an effective project. Would NEVER work there again. There are also no growth opportunities--if you want to move up, quit and go somewhere else.
