Pros

CIBC is a very diversified place, which is good for immigrants. CIBC is one of the big 5 banks in Canada, which allows you to taste the life at full-service bank.

Cons

CIBC's pay scale seems lower than competitors, at least at analyst level for certain functions. CIBC has lower percentage of employee coming from outside to bring in new ideas, versus higher percentage of attrition rate (again at least at junior levels for certain functions).

Pros

Excellent programs for personal and career development A lot of time is put into new employees (very welcoming, adequate training etc.) Really value and actively practice teamwork

Cons

Highly Political Makes numerous mistakes on employee's payroll (Be careful!) No one takes accountability of their actions. It is always someone else fault. Very little transparency into management decisions No correlation between your performance evaluation on paper and how you are treated or who gets promoted etc.
