Pros

Brand recognition. Being part of a large financial institution holds weight with suppliers and vendors who fall over themselves to do business with you.

Cons

Poor benefits, few raises (poor earnings always cited), no money for training. The benefits are jointly paid by employee and CIBC. Over the past few years more of this expense is being shouldered by the employee. No health or fitness incentives, they really don't encourage a healthy lifestyle.

Pros

There really are some good and talented people here. THe pay, benefits and "extras" are all pretty good and inline with the industry. Some innovative programs and a massive infastructure does help with career planning.

Cons

The senior leadership (Gerry and co.) is weak, and there is negligible focus on what truly matters--the customer! There IS strong support for doing the right things, and instituting customer-frindly policies by middle management, but little support from 'on high'

Pros

good benefits package, cohesive team, loved the downtown location (King & Bay)

Cons

jumped through hoops to obtain a promotion, salary uncompetitive, repeated requests for specific tasks to obtain further experience ignored/turned down. Parlayed this experience into a better-paying position elsewhere. No opportunities for promotion.
