Pros

City offers an excellent culture within all of the different teams and departments. They have mastered the work-life balance and truly strive to maintain the balance for all employees. The company is extremely transparent with decision making, growth, profits, at all levels of the company. The encourage employees to get involved with charities, internal employee groups, and providing insightful suggestions and pointing out issues and problems. The proactive approach to becoming not just a company that is successful but the focus on making each employee more successful, a better problem solver, and accountable for their own success are a few of the benefits of being part of the City family. another bonus would be the flexibility of remote/hybrid working as City allows associates to be employed while living in another state.

Cons

If I had to point out some flaws, I would say that some workloads are not balanced due to limits on hiring. The company salaries are on the lower end, however, there is more to job satisfaction than just salary and City has great benefits. There seems to be a disconnect from the corporate side to the laborers in the warehouse, which is common given the size of the company and exponential growth in just few years. With this type o growth there are always those that don't like change and there are a few teams who do not like the thought of changes being made, even if for the better.

Thank you for your thorough review. For somebody who hasn't been a full year with the company, your understanding of CITY's operating system is outstanding. Your valuable comments will be passed on through the appropriate channels.

Pros

Excellent furniture selection and effective marketing bring customers in.

Cons

Lack of support for new talent is evident. Career progression is unlikely. It is possible to earn some money in this organization; however, you will not likely experience significant growth or receive proper training and guidance. The communication within the organization is generally poor. There appears to be a considerable gap between the sales department's bottom producers and the management team. The company's culture is deteriorating as it prioritizes cost-cutting measures over employee incentives. The organization distributes new, unnecessary processes and inadequate training every week to please upper management and justify their salaries.
