Better options out there. Work Life Balance means that they tell you to go home when they don't have work for you.

I applied to CG and accepted a position because of the Work Life Balance they preached. That ultimately wasn't the reason I was dissatisfied, but rather there is no mentoring at all. You are given a cube with high walls and there is little to no interaction with anyone. What I signed up for seemed too good to be true, but I figured i would give it a shot. Sure enough, it was. The Partners are too busy and never provide feedback and its verrrry top heavy with old men. Women are almost non-existent. Interns are like cheap labor during tax season, nothing more.

New firm... needs time to prove itself

Pros

Clifton Gunderson and LarsonAllen were two equally sized firms that came together in 2012. They are working fast to merge the old firms and create what will be the new firm. Typical bumps in doing that but leadership has a strong vision. Overall, it's a great company with a great future.

Cons

In any post-merger there are territories, egos, and bad habits to break. Leadership needs to do a much better job in not being part of the problem.
