Pros

There are no longer any pros to working for CMG.

Cons

Working for this company went downhill quickly. At the height of the pandemic it was great - family feel, working together. Once 2022 happened and loans slowed down, Chris George was no where to be found. No one has heard from him for months. Instead, consistent layoffs, bonuses taken away, and lack of care/concern for the employee. Such a shame that this has happened to a once great company. Looks like greed has taken over.

Pros

There is nothing positive about working for this company. They are nothing short of being awful. Zero loyalties with this company.

Cons

This is by far the worst company I've ever worked for. They have zero loyalties to anyone other than loan officers. No matter how good you are at your job, you will get laid off if your assigned loan officer's are not producing. This company will promise you the world but they do not follow through with what they say. They even lie to their potential loan officer's when it comes to the benefits they offer. They forced their remote processors to come in to the office full time so they could portray to potential loan officer's how busy they were, when in fact they were sinking financially. If you want a long term career, DO NOT go to CMG. It's a red flag when a company is ALWAYS hiring. I've even caught them posting job opportunities that didn't exist on INDEED so that they could keep multiple applications on hand if needed. They also let their loan officer's talk to operations staff like total crap. It's abusive and borderline harassment. I can assure you that it has nothing to do with your work ethic or how many loans you close. Your job depends on how well your assigned loan officer's produce. Nobody's job should depend on someone else's work ethic. If I could give this company zero stars then I would! Good luck on your journey. My best advice is to pass this company up, run while you can!

Pros

- Sometimes food is catered. - Your peers will be the best/sweetest/most humble people you'll ever meet.

Cons

They have the worst work environment I've ever encountered. It wasn't always that way- they used to have a lot of company wide lunches and Christmas parties, but somewhere along the way they decided to stop caring about their employee happiness rate. Very strict, very negative, no music, no headphones, no talking to your coworkers, nothing is allowed. They watch the security cameras like hawks, time your breaks/lunches and read through all your IMs on a regular basis. There's clear pay gaps and favoritism. I know this is fact because many of us have shared our salaries. Put it this way, I make less than someone who was hired beneath me to assist me. I'm not the only Team Lead to encounter this, and I won't be the last. I remember white, male interns (with zero experience) came in making more than people that have been there years just based on who they know. Good luck asking for a raise and not getting the whole "we're freezing salary increases" speech. Don't hold you breath for an annual review because you won't get one in order for them to avoid having to give raises. Very little room for growth. BEWARE of getting offered a promotion with the promise of a raise. It's a bait and switch. They have no intention of giving you that raise (at least not for a year or two), but fully expect you to take on the extra responsibilities. Sometimes they'll even try to call it a "lateral move" just to get out of having the give you what you deserve. HR sucks and they don't care about the employees, they only care about covering the companies butt. I've seen people who went to HR hoping for help against the (racial and gender) inequalities they faced and were let go that very day.
