Pros
The only benefits are the benefits, the wages, the union job protection (sort of) the scenery working in the countryside, the good coworkers, and the recognition by others when they see you work for one of the best paying companies in (at least my city) budget rental car discount is pretty nice too.
Cons
Bad hours, heavy union dues, urinepoor management from undertrained miscreants who stop at nothing to make themselves look good by stepping on (in particular, new employees) and others. A whole lot of preaching from the company about policies that are inconsistently implemented and often revised. managers are often not as knowledgeable as veteran employees, and the company as a rule intentionally tries to give minimal time off to employees, even in circumstances where someone's father was on his deathbed. not to say that all managers are like this, but there are some (and some other departments' employees that simply don't do their jobs, nobody seems to give an F about the fact that transportation employees are some of the hardest working most talented resourceful people that this company has at their disposal, we are just peons and pawns in the control of some other a-holes that are following directives from idiots that make policies to make the shareholders happy. Working for this company in the transportation department is similar to scuba diving.. stay under for too long and you're screwed - 2 years less a day would be the perfect time to work at this job. then you can take your pension money and put it towards a house and get a job somewhere that you don't feel like a slave for the next 33 years. don't be like me and stay 7 years!
