      pay, that's about all I can think of

      Management consistently harassing you, never know when you are going to work, they say they safety is the most important thing and the next second they instruct you to violate safety rules in the name of production. If you like getting harassed and watched constantly this job is for you.

      Pros

      Decent Pay, Good technology, steady work. Lot's of chances for advancement if willing to relocate. People actually doing the work are great to work with and hard working.

      Cons

      Front line supervisors are micro managed causing them to micro manage employees. Every day seems like a witch hunt to find failures of rules. No concern for anyone's personal family life, railroad first ! Unobtainable deadlines and goals.

      Great benefits, pension and pay.

      Cons

      The hours can be taxing, considering you are on call 24/7/365, getting time off is a real chore. There is a lot of pressure to get things done place, and there is a very negative attitude with staff especially the more senior staff. They seam to like to manage through fear, the threat of discipline is always on your mind. The only jobs I have heard of where most conductors/engineers purchase out of work insurance in the event of rules related suspension or dismissal.
